Julie Madgwick Senior Policy Advisor, Early Childhood Care and Education

Julie has over twenty five years experience in education including providing leadership and implementing best practice in the early years. Julie has a Master's in Education and a Bachelor of Teaching and Learning and is a New Zealand registered teacher. Her work in teacher education and school management has given her an insight to the importance of high quality teachers in proving quality early childhood care and education.
In her role of Senior Policy Advisor, Early Childhood Care and Education, Julie leads and manages the Early Childhood Care and Education Unit and their goals of supporting parents and centre owners to provide quality early childhood care and education, providing targeted professional development for teachers and practitioners, and developing partnerships between the schools, centres and community.
In her previous role as an advanced subject teaching advisor implementing new curriculum and pedagogy in the United Arab Emirates, she worked with principals and teachers to improve the standard of teaching and learning in kindergartens and primary schools.
